Advent Sacred Music and Sunday Vespers

Evenings of Music and Prayer

This Advent, enjoy an evening of Sacred Music, followed by sung Vespers at St. Peter Church.

For centuries, the Church has prayed in common, both in word and song. In Vespers, those who pray together offer a prayer that is “the voice of a bride addressing her bridegroom;” the Church addressing Christ.

Beginning at 4pm on November 27th, St. Peter Church will offer small recitals of Sacred and Devotional Music, then at 4:30pm, we begin the prayer of the Church in Sung Vespers. Below is a list of the music to be offered.

On the 4th Sunday of Advent, we are excited to present Katelyn Emerson, an internationally renowned Organist, Lecturer, and Pedagogue. She will offer a full-length organ concert beginning at 4pm.

November 27th – Organ Concert, Nicholas Liese

December 4th – Choral Concert, The St. Peter Choir

December 11th – Organ Concert, Nicholas Liese

December 18th – Organ Concert, Katelyn Emerson
No Vespers will be prayed on this Sunday

We pray that you are able to join us for these evenings of Sacred Music and Prayer, and especially for the most wonderful concert that will be presented on December 18th!
